The business case for BESS has been rapidly changing in the past years. In Solar 2026, Lotta explores some of the ways BESS can add value to new assets. She will describe the synergies BESS has with different types of assets and how that affects the value creation strategies of the BESS.
The building blocks of BESS feasibility have been rapidly evolving, but the benefits of co-location remain.
Riku has been analysing the Nordic power market since 2012. He has previously worked in various power sector roles in Tampereen Sähkölaitos, SKM Market Predictor and Fortum before joining Axpo in March 2023. He is currently responsible for fundamental analysis of Nordic and UK power markets in Axpo headquarters in Switzerland.
The presentation will provide an insight to various challenges which solar power has faced over the last years in different European power markets. Among the topics are solar power data quality, value optimisation, cannibalisation effects, cross-border effects and subsidy side-effects.
Aleksi works as an analyst at the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats. Since joining the Centre’s Community of Interest on Vulnerabilities and Resilience in 2018, he has focused on how hybrid threats target vulnerabilities in various critical sectors of society, and how to build resilience. Aleksi has also contributed to the development of conceptual and analytical models for hybrid threats.
