Advancing Finland’s offshore wind future

Wind Offshore 2026 brings together key industry players, policymakers, and experts to examine how Finland can accelerate offshore wind development in a competitive and rapidly evolving energy landscape.

The programme spans four themes:

The opening session provides an overview of offshore wind developments in Finnish territorial waters and the EEZ, including an update on Project Sunnanvind, which highlights the progress made since Åland’s maritime spatial plan and the next steps toward realising large-scale production.

The second session looks ahead: market outlook, and the critical role of offshore wind in enabling Finland’s hydrogen economy. Clean electricity will be the backbone of green hydrogen production and long-term energy security.

Sustainability, impact assessment, and system integration form the focus of the third session. Topics include an industry-led carbon footprint methodology for offshore wind, advances in offshore bird radar monitoring, and the future prospects of Finland’s electricity system.

The final session addresses infrastructure and competitiveness focusing on supply chain challenges and opportunities for Finnish companies in international markets.

Wind Offshore 2026 offers a timely platform to discuss technical innovations and emerging opportunities and to shape the next chapter of offshore wind in Finland.

Join the leading specialists from the offshore wind and marine industries in the heart of Helsinki on 26 March. Tickets are available until March 12 at renewablesevents.fi/windoffshore2026
